United Way

Most of us have had to adjust our budgets to deal with rising costs and sinking savings during this economic downturn. For others, times are far more challenging. There are people with problems many of us can’t even imagine, and too many of them don’t know where to turn.

That’s where the United Way comes in. The College supports this organization because it makes a difference right here at home. Proceeds are funneled directly to local charitable and social service agencies. The dollars you contribute stay in Volusia and Flagler counties, helping our own neighbors. Your pledge ensures that the United Way has the funds to provide services and programs to meet the immediate and future needs of our community.

 Pledge cards for this year’s Daytona State College United Way campaign have been distributed.  On your pledge card, you can choose to contribute to the United Way’s Community Investment Fund or directly to one of its partner agencies.  View a list of partner agencies here. Tri-state and part-time employees are encouraged to participate through one-time contributions.  Call LeeAnn Davis, 3404, or Ken Matthews, 3988, to request a pledge card.

Molasses Cookies

Enjoy a delicious molasses cookie at the Christopher Bean Coffee Shop (DB 1200).  Cookies are fifty cents each, with twenty-five cents from each sale going to the United Way.
