Program Overview

Engineering technologists are implementers and problem solvers. Some help engineers and scientists with research and development. Others do experiments, collect data or calculate results. Still others are involved with quality control, checking and testing products, and finding ways to produce products more efficiently.

Daytona State College offers the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (BSET) with optional concentrations in Electrical Engineering Technology and Information Systems Technology.

As an engineering technologist, you may work in a wide variety of industries depending on your area of interest and specialization, including aerospace, aviation, medicine, environmental sciences, electronics and software development, manufacturing and contruction - virtually any industry in which products are designed, developed or tested.

Many engineering technologists who have earned their bachelor's degrees often pursue graduate study in engineering management, construction management, business administration or similar programs in order to advance in their fields.

Our Engineering Technology program is taught at Daytona State's $30-million, state-of-the-art Advanced Technology College which features engineering/electronic lab space, required software and hardware, and a cutting-edge online delivery platform. The ATC operates a “Technology Refresh” plan, which ensures that all labs are updated on a regular basis to ensure that students are trained using tools that reflect the latest industry standards.
