DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Aug. 27, 2010) – The Center for Community & Professional Education at Daytona State College has teamed up with the Institute of Envelope Science to help you position yourself to be on the leading edge of the energy efficiency/green movement by being certified to provide Home Performance Testing.
Learn the fundamentals of how a residential building works as a system and how to use the latest building science technology to help solve heating, cooling and air leakage problems. This course will teach how to evaluate the energy performance, comfort and safety of a house through a comprehensive, whole-house diagnostic procedure.
WHAT: Building Analyst Professional Certification
WHEN: Sept. 27 – Oct. 1 (Monday – Friday), from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
WHERE: Daytona State College, Bldg. 110, Rm. 249, 1200 W. Int’l Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach
FEE: $1,800*
This intensive five day course provides the fundamentals of building science necessary to improve home performance. Learn how to identify causes of building failure due to interrelated building issues, the use of energy diagnostic equipment used to measure building performance, principles and techniques of combustion safety testing for heating appliances, calculate and implement proper ventilation strategies, techniques to address managing moisture in homes, comprehensive air sealing and insulating practices, cost effective solutions for failing homes, and BPI standards and testing practices necessary for completion and maintenance of certification.
